OKOUME

Okoume is known for being lightweight and having characteristics similar to a softwood. Its heartwood ranges in color from salmon pink to light pinkish-brown or reddish-brown, and it darkens with age or exposure to light. It often has a straight to slightly interlocked or wavy grain and a medium texture. Mahogany and Okoume are so similar in appearance that it is difficult to differentiate them from one another at a glance, or even during closer inspection.
